SEPTEMBER 2020 NEWSLETTER
SEPTEMBER GARDENING TIP
For anybody that has fruit trees, pick up your windfall fruit. If the fruit has maggots, and they're left to rot in to the ground, the maggots will pupate in the ground, hatching in the Spring to climb up, lay eggs and the cycle starts again. Break the cycle and pick up your windfall fruit!
Purchase fruit tree grease, which will need applying in October to protect your trees from winter moth caterpillars.
DEVELOPMENTS ON THE NURSERY
NEW CUSTOMER TOILET COMING SOON
We were hoping to have the new customer toilet open by the beginning of September, but unfortunately this has been delayed, and is looking more like the beginning of October. We're waiting for Western Power Distribution to do some electrical upgrades to the nursery's power supply. Until these works are complete we cannot install electrics within the new toilet. Keep watching this space!

GREENHOUSE ROOF UPGRADE
Maintenance and upgrade work has started on our greenhouse roof.
Sourcing the parts to do this has been a real headache - the greenhouse dates back to the 60's, so finding compatible components has been challenging to say the least!
We're re-paneling with Heatguard polycarbonate panels which will reduce the amount of heat that's transmitted into the greenhouse. This will make the indoor space a much happier environment for plants and people, especially during the summer!
The extra space that we gain, once the roof has been installed, will become home to our Autumn/Winter charity events, including our Pumpkin Trail in October. We will also have more space to provide plenty of indoor, socially-distanced seating for CUPPA Coffee Shop, ready for the winter season.

CUPPA COFFEE SHOP

DREW'S POP UP PIZZA EVENT - SUNDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER, 12-3PM
Enjoy a freshly prepared wood fired pizza in the CUPPA Coffee Shop garden. Drew not only bakes them to order, but he makes the dough by hand himself - no premixes or frozen dough balls in Drew's kitchen!
Drew held two pop-up pizza events in August - thank you to those that came and enjoyed the pizza. Keep an eye out on the CUPPA Coffee Shop social media pages for further event dates - weather dependent!
